Lead Content Prompts Zinc Acetate Recall

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported the recall of 14,000 grams of zinc acetate, crystal, produced by Spectrum Laboratory Products.

The lot in question, manufactured at the company’s facility in New Jersey, is #2EH0257.

What prompted the recall? The company noted that it “exhibits lead levels in excess of the USP monograph limits.”

The lot was distributed in Georgia, Missouri, Massachusetts, Tennessee, as well as in Canada.
