The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the shortage of a blood thinner.
Merck, maker of eptifibatide (Intergrilin) injection, announced that there is currently a shortage of several presentations due to manufacturing delays.
The report noted that limited inventory is available, and it will be resupplied periodically.
The following presentations are impacted:
10-mL vials containing 20 mg of eptifibatide
100-mL vials containing 75 mg of eptifibatide
100-mL vials containing 200 mg of eptifibatide
